Honestly, I used to think Vision and Mission statements were stuffy and outdated. Just corporate fluff for business plans.

I was w-r-o-n-g. Here’s what I’ve learned about strategising your Vision, Mission and Purpose and why they make a tangible difference.

It comes down to consistency in your actions and your message as a business, which then leads to a repeatable and strong brand that your customers can learn, resonate with and trust.

In the day-to-day, you and/or your staff act differently, say different things, have different viewpoints, and want to share different information as you go about your life.

But these key statements allow you to create a solid direction for your brand’s voice and actions and stick to it. Whenever you bring out a new product or service, you can ask “does this match with our goals?” And use this to keep your brand consistent for years.

As your business grows, you can adapt these if necessary. Just remember that your brand will change with them.
