My creative levels change day-to-day, week-to-week and greatly depend on my surroundings and experiences.
And I know I’m not alone, this is how we all work.
But I expect to deliver my clients the same caliber of work no matter what mood I’m personally in.
This is why it is so great to have a flexible job where you can pick and choose your tasks depending on your caliber of brain cells that day. Some days I’m better suited to quietly barreling through some custom CSS code and other days I’m straight to logos. Some days I can’t get past my bookkeeping! Other days there are too many people in my home to concentrate properly and I no longer try to push myself during those times. Instead, I close my computer, put away my sketch pad and I always happily have 100% faith that I’ll do better coming back to it later.
DONT’t 👏 FORCE 👏 CREATIVITY!
You can always influence it. But don’t force it if it’s not time. It will come back stronger if you leave it hiding for a while. 😝
How are you feeling creatively this Thursday?
